Max S. Dunn...when there is a will, there is a way |
||
To whom it may concern:
In the way of background, I am Vice-President Engineering at Philips Healthcare Informatics, a global engineering organization with a 50M$ annual budget. I have a PhD in Computer Science and about 25 years experience primarily in the healthcare software sector.
Max Dunn is both a business associate and a personal friend, and I would very much recommend him as a participant in your program.
Some observations to support my recommendation:
1) Max is a very strong and clear communicator. He very carefully listens to the arguments and perspectives of others and then clearly articulates his concise and comprehensive response. He does this with everybody from the subject matter expert to the ignorant. Most importantly, he readily concedes his points if confronted with logical and convincing arguments for the opposing view.
2) Max is a strong team player and a natural leader. This means that he usually has a clear idea of direction and purpose, but he brings others along by applying his superior communication skills. I am a strong-willed personality myself, but in our joint ventures we have been able to drive into productive directions not in small measure due to Max's ability to push and pull back as appropriate. I would not hesitate to either have Max in my team, or to be in a team lead by Max.
3) Max has a strong and clear set of values that permeate his communications. He is not dogmatic, and has over time changed positions on certain topics. But he remains consistent and always links his views to the good of mankind. Personally, I have different views than Max on many topics (my background is liberal European!), but our discussions are always enlightening and carried by a spirit of logic and ultimately common goals.
4) Max is a software and internet expert. He (and we together) have worked on many internet software projects of high complexity. There is not a software problem that Max would not be able to tackle personally.
5) Max is persistent, as demonstrated by his serial entrepreneurship. Over the last year he has become quite involved in discussions and activities surrounding the energy crisis. Max is not one to jump on fads, so my belief is that he will continue to focus on this area for several years to come. I would not be surprised if he would start a company in this area (his fourth) after completion of the program.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for further questions.
Kind regards,
Wido Menhardt
