Pitch

I was asked to give a 2 minute pitch on my idea. I had some time over lunch to think about this a little and decided to concentrate on battery leasing. Here is the outline of my pitch:

• World faces problems: overpopulation, poverty, climate change 
• However, peak oil one of the biggest problems we face
• Peak oil doesn't mean we are running out of oil, just that we can't pump it out of the ground fast enough to keep up with demand
• Effects: high gas prices, recession, food shortages, war
• How to reduce oil usage and move to sustainable energy sources?
• Transportation in US uses 50% of our oil
• Electric vehicles use almost no oil, much cleaner and can easily run on sustainable energy
• Technology is here and EVs owners really like them
• However battery costs too high
• Ford EV Ranger $29k, battery is $20k
• However will burn $20k in gas over 100k miles
• What if we leased batteries? Owners pay out of fuel savings
• This could make EVs affordable to everyone
• I see a world where my 9 daughter will have a wide choice of EVs when she starts driving and her kids will wonder why we ever drove smelly, polluting gas cars rather than quiet and clean EVs that are powered by sustainable energy.
